CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL 2010
AWARD WINNERS

2010 is over and NBHA OK 08 celebrated the year
  end with an awards banquet to be proud of. The                 Awards package for 2010 was in excess of $10,000.
  Open awards were placed down to 5 places in all 5
  divisions, Youth awards were placed down to 5 places
  in all 4 divisions and all 5 Seniors received awards.
  We also handed out Embroidered Hooded Jackets to
  ALL OK 08 members who fulfilled their membership
  obligations regardless of their year end placing in the
  divisions.
A banquet of Lasagne and tea  was catered
  by Pirate Island of Collinsville, Texas with dessert and
  a variety of side dishes brought by the membership for     all to enjoy.
Specialty awards included Blinged out Book Covers
  awarded to Judy and Robin for their super support of        our association - working jackpots even when                     horseless, a special blinged Cowgirl Mug to Kim for          being an outstanding new member to our group, and a      set of boots awarded to Sydney for always helping            anybody and everybody with their horses in the alley.
  Jackets were given to Patty and Bambi for their                 outstanding work in gathering sponsors, Janet and John
  for their constant help with early arrival and late                   departure at the jackpots, Scott for his loyal tractor
  driving and Dee for secretary duties.
    The entire membership also signed Thank You notes      to send to all of our wonderful sponsors who without           them none of this would be possible.

NBHA  OK 08 DISTRICT RULES FOR 2011

  1.  It is the member's responsibility to call to see if a show has been cancelled
       due to bad weather. Call the morning of the show or check show posters for
       call numbers.
  2.  It is the member's responsibility to provide the district with current contact
       information.
  3.  Public display of alcohol or recreational drugs will NOT be tolerated.
  4.  Excessive fowl, rude or vulgar language will result in dismissal from the
       show and points will be forfeited for the day.
  5.  No draws will be permitted without having a completed entry form (includ-
       ing signed release), and monies paid. Pre-entries for other riders are
       allowed only if all information on the entry form is complete (including
       signature) and the person drawing must provide payment.
  6.  In accordance with Section A, rule 14 of the NBHA rule book:  It is the
       entrant's /rider's responsibility to ensure the draws between multiple horses
       (if applicable) is sufficient BEFORE LEAVING THE ENTRY TABLE.
  7.  Dress Code: All riders must wear long pants and heels down type shoes or
       boots while mounted. This applies to exhibitions as well as classes.  OK 08
       encourages appropriate western attire but does not require a full dress code
       as stated in Section F of the NBHA rule book, unless specifically stated on
       a handbill of a sanctioned show.
  8.  Age Limits/Class Restrictions:
  *Youth class: entrants must be 18 years old or under as of Jan. 1, 2010
    to compete in the Youth class. Youth class entrants may also run in the
    Open class or carry over their Youth class time to the Open class. (No
    carryover allowed AFTER Youth have run class)
  *Senior class: entrants must be 40 years old or over to compete in the
    Senior class. THIS IS FOR DISTRICT POINTS ONLY.  A Senior class
              entrant may also run in the Open class or carryover their Senior class
              time to the Open class. (No carryover allowed AFTER Seniors have run
              class) Senior NATIONAL NBHA points are still for entrants 50 and older.
  *Open class: any participant may enter the Open class. Open times may
    not be carried back to the Senior or Youth classes.

  Fines:Entries:
   To ensure jackpots run timely, safe andBooks open 30 minutes prior to
    fair; Violation will result in $5 fine, paid        exh. & close "when the first
    prior to the next run        horse runs" (NBHA requirement)
  *Exhibitions limited to 60 seconds
    (exception-lead line/small child)        Entry Cards:
  *Circling barrels during class run   Must be completed per class/
     per horse - fill COMPLETELY
  Refunds:
    Refunds allowed prior to first run of class      Coggins:
    Must have in your possession
  Co-Sanctioned Shows:      Proof of Negative Coggins for
    Show EF paid to show host & district fee         each horse at all Dist. 08 shows
    of $5 per entry/per class paid to district
    director prior to run for credit &/or points

1. Compete in half of the jackpots during OK 08 calendar year
     New members: year begins from date of joining to Dec 31
      *All points count for District Awards from sanctioned & nonsanctioned shows
       (National / State Points come from sanctioned shows ONLY)
         **District Points will be awarded from 5 points down to 1 (however, in
             larger divisions may award up to 10 points and down to give ALL district
             members points for the day)
          **National Points will always be awarded 5 points down to 1 point
2. Pay your membership award fee of $40 per class by April
       (may be paid in installments - new members within 3 jackpots of joining)
3.  Acquire minimum of 10 award points: bring in new members,                 work at jackpots, bring in sponsorships, donations, awards, ticket           sales
      (talk to director for alternatives to working the jackpot - there are other options)
  4.  Only receive one saddle per member per class
       If winning multiple divisions, will receive saddle for highest division, dropping
       saddle to next placing in other divisions
  5.  Tie Breakers for awards:
        * Member having competed in most races for the point year
        * Member having most work/award points
        * Member having won most money in that division
        * Coin Flip / Runoff - Contestants choice

  State Show Requirements
       must attend 4 sanctioned shows

  World Show (National) Requirements
       must be in top 5 places in divisions in classes to qualify

       Membership lapse will result in loss of points
